I am receiving alerts for text messages on my iPad but not on my iPhone . Any suggestions?

On your iPhone, check Settings > Notification Center > Messages
You probably would like badges and banners.
I have banners selected. Badge app icon on, alert sound has pulse checked.
Might you also have Do Not Disturb on? Check Settings > Do Not Disturb and make sure it is off.
Can someone tell me how your iphone sends you text alerts? My son has an Android. I get his texts on my iphone, no problem. I know I cannot actually text from my ipad, but have seen over and over agin people getting test alerts...*** please tell m e how. I have only had my ipad for less than a week and still trying to figure out all the possibilities.
