2010 macBook pro 15". Lagging and froze during last update.

BobRz, I will try to do this myself as the people at the Apple store did not want to help me with my hinge problem and I had to go over their heads to get the work done under warrenty. They will probably say it was not them who made the problem (and maybe they are correct in saying that)! What do you want me to post with the entresoft?

Just looking at the "launch agents", I see I have a brother printer application and Blackberry application that I do not use anymore, help on disabling these applications (where do I find them and trash them).

The Brother is for an old MFP (printer,copier,fax) don't have it anymore, Blackberry is GONE, Spryodriver is my son's Wii game. I will try your reccomendations. Does this have anything to do with the freezing and lag??

the Wii was on the Applications and I put it in the trash, the other two were not, where am I looking in the System Preferences? Start-up disk??

in the "Other" section of System Preferences I have "Flash Player" and "Browser Plus" if that helps you?
