Bug type 115 on Ipad

I have about 2 months with this issue, and start happening after I update my IOS to versión 7.1.1

If I stop using my IPad, even just blocking the screen or turning off the device, it is impossible to turn on again the device, the screen stays black and only after 3 days respond only if I connect the device to the energy

When finally I turn it on, I check the diagnostic and have a reset counter with this information:

{"os_version":"iPhone OS 7.1.1 (11D201)","name":"Reset count","bug_type":"115"}

Incident Identifier: A5742C18-153C-4606-A378-491BC0E4B944

CrashReporter Key: 52dad7ab8ff745db54dd32bc8116d26405b7f89a

Date: 2014-06-01 16:28:30 -0600

Reset count: 0

Boot failure count: 1

Boot faults: rst vdd_under

Boot stage: 80

Boot app: 2681261667

It is very weird because I can use the iPad for many hours without problem, but If I just block the screen then no respond again!!!

I already went to the Geniuos bar and they couldnt find the issue, even restarting the device to the original settings still having the problem! They discard issue a with the battery, And of course they propose to change the device for a new one paying "only" 300 usd + taxes.

Please if somebody can help me to fix this!

Here are some standard repair procedures:

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

No. Wouldn't matter anyway. You have a hardware problem and the only solution is to contact Apple for a replacement. If out of warranty and there is no evidence of abuse, these are the charges. If there is evidence of abuse (don't try to fix it yourself), Apple will return your damaged unit to you.

I am having the same problem with my iPad 2 (WiFi, 64GB) after updating to IOS 7.1.1.

The screen turns black 10-20 times a day and I have to hard reset it every time to get it working again.

Bug types: 110 and 115.

I tried to factory reset the unit without luck - I am still having the same error...

hoping for a quick fix...

Thank You for your advice Philly_Phan,

I allready tried all those steps you mention in your post, sadly without luck 😟

I even turned the iPad back to the factory defaults where everyhing gets deleted (all settings and apps get removed) without luck.

Is there a way to downgrade to IOS 7.0.x again ?

best regards

Flemming

I also tried the factory reset without success, I'm still having the same issue...

So yes, it seems to be a hardware problem, but it's a pitty that with only 15 months of use and in perfect conditions this things happening, for me it's not worth to pay another 300 usd for a new one, so lets switch to samsung galaxy.

I am experiencing the same problem, started 3weeks ago. iPAD goes blank when I close it for a couple mins. I have tried resetting, restore, etc...

However, if I plug it to a power socket, the iPad does not reset. it operates as normal. No reboot even after several hours.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

If that's the case, I'm highly Disapointed in Apple. I've always recommended them for their reliability, and after only having my Ipad mini for 14 months, it develops a hardware problem? And I am more than just careful with my mobile devices. I'? so careful with them, it usually takes well over a year before even the first scratch appears on them. could it be a battery problem? you know, sudden voltage drops caused by background processes?

Hi! First of all I'm sorry that I hear about your problem, I have the same exact problem with my iPhone 5s and it happened when I updated to iOS 8. To my knowledge Bug Type 110 and 115 are both software problems (110 basically means that the code is returning an unexpected null pointer, and 115 is about memory management), I've reported our problem to Apple, haven't got any responses yet but I'm optimistic about it.

-------

anyways, what happened to your ipad? did you return it to apple?
