iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.


Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.


I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...


All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

It does sound like something in your iPhone 5s backup isn't playing well with your new Plus. As awful as it sounds, I would recommend setting up your new fabulous phone like a new phone and manually adding your apps back.

Fui estafado por Apple. Vivo en Argentina. A fines del mes de junio compre en Miami un iphone 5S. Hace unos dias al bajar al actualizacion IOS 8 , el telefono comenzo a funcionar muy mal. Al intentar bajar la actualizacion 8.0.2 para restaurar el telefono por eI I tunes, el telefono dejo de funcionar definitivamente. Aqui comenzo la cuestion. Comunicaciones interminables con soporte tecnico en Mexico y USA. El telefono no funciono mas. Genere multiples reclamos y todavia sigo esperando una respuesta. La atencion es muy mala. Nadie se hace responsable. Es de un telefonoa otro , musica, a otro, mas musica y nunca una respuesta util e inteligente.

Llame hoy otra vez y me daran un TURNO para atnederme para el reemplazo del equipo.

Es una verguenza la atencion al cliente y el servicio tecnico de un producto defectuoso como el IOS 8 el que curiosamente en menos de una semana ya sufrio dos actualizaciones o parches por lo monumentales errores que tenia.

Aviso esto para las personas para que esten atentas y reclamen sus derechos como consumidores frente a esta empresa que no tiene la minima calidad de atencion para con sus clientes/usuarios.

I finally made an appointment at the Apple store the other day, I guess it was on Thursday. Before going in, I managed to get a video of my phone crashing, and showed it to the tech that was helping me (cause I knew it wouldn't do it while I was in the store). He immediately went to work on getting me set up with a new phone without any further questions, and aside from the wait to be seen (even tho I made an appt), I was out the door with my new phone no more than 10 minutes after I showed him the video. Said he had seen something similar on another phone, but hadn't seen anything exactly like what mine was doing.


I know that the Apple store can be a nightmare, and for me it was the last resort, but if your phone is crashing a lot, I highly recommend booking an appointment and getting it taken care of. I haven't had an issue yet, since.

Where did you get it? I would love to try it out since Im still waiting ATT or Apple to replace my POS 6 Plus.


I have owned Apple products for a few years and thankfully I have never had any issues with any of them until this point. My experience as a customer (trying to get get this resolved/replaced) with Apple has been terrible. Worst experience ever. This has cost me alot of time and money. 😠

Yeah, me too man, something is really wrong with the 6 Plus. Going to the Apple store this afternoon. So far I have tried:


Restoring from DFU to 8.0.2 = red of blue screen crash

Restoring from DFU to 8.0 = red of blue screen crash

Setting up from iCloud backup = red of blue screen crash

Setting up from iTunes backup = red of blue screen crash

Setting up as new phone = red of blue screen crash


Yeah, so I got nothing. I had to take my sim out of my new iPhone 6 Plus and put it back in my 5S just so I had a working phone today. Help Apple :\


Oh, also this is on a Silver AT&T 6+ 16GB

Yes, mine is crashing repeatedly if I try to things in Settings in particular. Clicking Wallpaper in particular always crashes it.


It also crashes just sitting on my disk without me even touching it.


All of you having crashes, I presume you all have a lot of apps on the phone? I have 1,100.


Is anyone having crashes but has fewer than 750 apps installed?
