Transparency mode goes out and sounds like it's malfunctioning when there is high pitched noise

when there is high pitched noise, not even loud. Like me whistling, the transparency mode sounds like it's malfunctioning. I sent them to apple and they checked them out and said there was no problems. I'm really not sure. Maybe the mics just stopped functioning? What do I do?
