Help with Time Machine BackUp - “/Users/johnmadden2/Library/Safari/History.db” could not be backed up.

For some reason with my time machine external drive, I keep getting this error, even with Safari is open or not" “/Users/johnmadden2/Library/Safari/History.db” could not be backed up.

Any thoughts on how I correct this?

Find the file History.db and see what the permissions for it are and see if it's locked.

How long have you been getting this error message? Was it after a system update?

You can try this:

1 - close Safari

2 - move the History.db file to the Desktop

3 - launch Safari and make sure it's working OK.

4 - try making a Time Machine backup

Note: if Safari has problems you can replace the History.db file from the Desktop back to the Safari folder. But it should be recreated and Safari should work.
