How do I continue my Apple Music subscription?

I haven’t paid my subscription for apple music within a week or 2, so last night I went and paid it because I had money on my card. Apple Music didn’t let me continue my subscription, i paid for it and then it wouldn’t let me play my music after I paid for it.
