I have Japanese VISA credit card in my Apple wallet. When I try to add money to my ICOCA card it says I do not have eligible card in my wallet. Anyone knows how to solve this? I use the card to pay anything on Apple Pay and it works just fine.
What country are you currently in? Many community members are reporting having issue with Visa cards. Mastercard and American Express cards seem to have a better chance of being added. Some members have reported having luck with funding their cards during regular business hours in Japan (M~F). Another member reported having issues with the new 3D Secure credit card requirement for online purchases in Japan. The member said once he called the bank about it, they updated his card and the transaction went through.
I live and I am currently in Japan. I will try contacting my car provider AEON about it.
But just to clarify, I can use Apple Pay without a problem, it is just the ICOCA issue.
My understanding it’s only when the card/payment method is used online. Apple Pay and the card will not be affected by 3D Secure.
