IPod Shuffle stuck in lock mode. What can be done?

I have a IPod shuffle. It's stuck in lock mode. I can come out from lock mode just by quickly pressing play/pause button 2 times and then holding play/pause button for 3 seconds but shortly after that & within next 5 seconds it again goes back into lock mode (after making IPhone's lock sound + Automatically turning up orange light 3 times). I have tried below steps & couldn't succeed to come out from lock mode

1. Turn off IPod, wait for 10-15 seconds and then turn on.
2. Resetting IPod thru iTunes.
3. Pressing Play/Pause button for 3 seconds (This is not permanent).

could someone please let me know what else can be done to fix this?
