How to fix auto shutdown failures on Mac mini

'18 mini set to shutdown with Energy pref at 2a and wake at 7a.

the last couple of nights it hasn't shut down with a message about someone is sharing this Mac.

I am "sharing" Mac til 1:15a and there should be no other share that I am aware of.

No new software installs. Nothing odd showing in Console log or Etre.

When I go to open Energy pref with mnemonic via Quicksilver, I get "Could not install (null) preferences pane."

But when I click on Energy, it opens and seems fine.

Good work posting the screenshots.

Set your "Turn display off after" to 10 or 15 minutes. This will prolong display life and save energy.

Check "Prevent your Mac from automatically sleep when display is off"

Uncheck "Wake for network access"

Uncheck "Enable Power Nap"

Leave the Scheduled Startup and Shutdown times as is.

Reset the 2018 Mac mini's SMC.

Desktop computer

  1. Shut down your Mac, then unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
  3. Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.

Then test that setup for a day or two.
