AirPod completely not working and overheating randomly

My left AirPod went through the washing machine about 3 weeks ago. When it came out it was fine and i might even say the sound quality was better than it had been. Then randomly today it got super hot then stopped turning on and connecting. When i try to charge it in heats up rapidly and emits a high pitched squeal. I’ve only had these for less than 5 months and they’re regular AirPods not pros so I’m quite confused. Anyone know how to fix it??
