A restart of just the Siri Remote may correct the issue:
If the volume buttons on your Apple TV remote aren't working - Apple Support
Else please elaborate about your audio setup. Do you use the TV’s built-in speakers, or something else? How is it connected?

FYI, both have worked since I purchased the above system until yesterday. Siri was working as well. I’ve restarted Siri, gone to settings and tried various sound setting without any positive results. Yes, I also use the TV speakers as well
