Port not working from the day of purchase

I bought a Mac m1 2 years ago on the day one I checked that charging with port one it worked . When I tried to do the same thing by shifting the cable it is not working . I thought that only one port we can charge Mac . Today I came to know that both port can be used but not at a time . It is a manufacturing defect . I think I can get help regarding this issue irrespective of warranty.
