The system says I have 187GBs of apps

I have a MacBook Air M1 2020 with macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 that i bought couple months back. I have a hard time understanding why there isn't any space left on it. The system says I have 187GBs of apps but my heaviest app are 3.6, 2.2 and 1.1GBs. I don't know what to do I deleted all non-essential stuff already and got like an extra GB of space..

Depends on what you have installed. Not everything an app uses is directly in the Applications folder. I have 42 GB of my own apps installed, but there's another 23 GB in other locations. Such as the root Library folder, and more scattered around in my user account within the Library folder. Mainly the Application Support and Group Containers subfolders.

If you have an app like Logic installed, the sound samples alone can take up an enormous amount of space.
