AirPods Pro 2 won’t stop chirping

I am using gen 2 Air Pods pro, and they chirp incessantly, at least a few times a day. I notice the chirping always when they’re within five feet of the phone they are paired to. They only started doing this after I updated to iOS 17.14.1.

I have already tried to forget and re-pair the AirPods — removing it and re-adding it to my apple account does not solve the problem.

This is driving me nuts, since it happens throughout the night and I can’t plug them in next to my bed anymore.

does anyone know how to solve this issue?
