Screen is black on MacBook Pro M1

Not very likely, but try holding down the fn key and pressing F2 (in case this mac has function keys).

If the problem persists:

Try shutting down your mac, but pressing and holding the power button until it turns off completely.

Then start it up again, but this time keep holding down the power key as the mac starts. Anything on screen?

If you have access to an external screen, you may connect it to your mac and see if there is any signal coming through - this is not a solution but will help determine that your mac is working, and that the problem is only with the screen.

If this cannot be resolved, you will need to take your mac into service.

Did you check the screen brightness?

If this mac has physcal function keys, the F2 key should increase the brightness. Press it multiple times to increase brightness.

If this mac is one of those with a touch bar, there should be a brightness icon:

tap it and it will show a slider:

if it shows like this, drag the white slider to the right.
