I am in a bit of trouble with missing links.
I don't have the media that is missing but I do not have the exact media but it does not have the same name. I am working with the Multi-cam shoot. If I have the original video, is it possible to replace the video FCP is looking for with the Original media (different name) and preserve the edits I have made in the timeline?

What kind of error will occur if I replace it with the original media that has been renamed?
Please try it with a copy project.
You should need only to relink the original media.
Then the multicam clip should immediately reference the proper file automatically, without any other work on your part.
I just tried this on a test project and it worked as expected.
