I use external USB and micro SD cards to store data. Does any one have a recommendation for encryption of these devices or password protection? Is encryption limited to files and folders only? OS Sonoma, M3 Pro

Thanks so much brbo. I was also considering use of WinZip at folder level.
I see references in the articles to APFS. Several large capacity external flash drives, microSD and SSD (SanDisk, PNY, Seagate come formatted in ExFAT which allowed cross platform access.
Did Sonoma change that, and will DiskUtility work with ExFat?
