Mac Mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro. Which is the best?

Hi everyone,

Good day.

I am planning to get a unit on either any of these three devices for using software like DaVinci Resolve Studio, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and other up to 5 Adobe software, so either:

1. Mac Mini (32GB RAM) + 27" Display

2. Mac Studio (32GB RAM) + 27" Display

3. Mac Pro (32GB RAM) + 27" Display

Seek opinion from everyone.

Thank you very much.

The Mac Pro desktop comes with a M2 Ultra, a minimum of 64 GB of RAM, and a price tag of at least $6999 USD (before monitor, keyboard, and pointing device). Although it has PCIe slots, it doesn't accept PCIe graphics cards (a BIG change from the focus of the Intel-based 2019 Mac Pro).

Is this what you meant? Or did you mean a MacBook Pro notebook? The 14" and 16" MacBook Pros come with a choice of several processor chips (M3, M3 Pro, M3 Max), and which chip you get affects things like:

  • RAM options
  • Number of CPU cores
  • Number of GPU cores
  • Number of USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports
  • Maximum number of external displays

It is difficult to say something, since everything here depends on your preferences.

For example, I like the Mac Pro because it's a lot cooler that's built for extreme performance and expandability.

Also, the Mac Mini is not a bad option, because it is more compact and suitable for basic computing tasks, or home use and Mac Studio, it supports options for a powerful Apple M1 Max or M1 Ultra chip. Ideal for professional creativity, video editing, 3D rendering and other demanding tasks.

Ssince it has not yet been stated explicitly, allow me to do so.

The MacBook Pro computers are great computers, however.

You pay dearly for a computer optimized for light weight and portability and possible operation on battery power over EVERYTHING else. You paid dearly for that beautiful display, and if you expect to mostly close the built-in display, it does not make sense to own that model.

if you don't DEMAND that portability daily, your money buys much more capability in a desktop Mac. (You could use another older MacBook for portability.)
