AppleTVs and Network ping response

A client of mine has 5 AppleTVs, and they're all monitored via PRTG for PING response, just to make sure we know if something's gone offline.

All AppleTVs are tied into the same network, on the same switches, no Wi-Fi, statically assigned to IPs on the same VLAN.

Three AppleTVs have a 100% response rate, and two are at 86% and 92% respectively. Is there some model difference in AppleTV ethernet adapters where they maybe go offline when sleeping? Is there any known issue with AppleTV ethernet adapters? Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks,

Have you tried switching around boxes vs. ethernet cables, to verify that it is not the cable (or switch) that is faulty?

Have you checked that the ports are clean and free from dust and lint?

All current models support Wake-on-LAN. In sleep mode, it still tries to detect if some connection attempt is being made (e.g. AirPlay).

There are no adapters. The ethernet port on the Apple TV box connects directly to the logic board.

I don’t consider that more reliable than DHCP. Just more human labor including self-checks. The router would/could recognize devices by their MAC address and/or device name (when the device discloses that) anyway; it doesn’t need the fixed IP addresses for that.
