Safari not working after foreign trip

When we recently returned from a trip to Japan on which I had used a different sim card, my iphone at first wouldn't connect to my carrier back home when I re inserted the home sim. I did manage to resolve that issue but now, though I can get internet coverage on my network as well as wifi, I still can't get Safari browser to find the network. It keeps giving me a "no internet connection" message despite the fact that all the other apps on my phone work with no problem. I guess I could switch to a different browser but my other devices use Safari and I'd prefer to get it back on my cel.......

Safari and network routing isn’t particularly tied to a SIM card.

Remove any add-on VPN client apps that might be installed, any add-on security apps, any Safari extensions, and reset cookies and cache within Settings > Safari.

Then force a restart: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
