I have an older Ipad mini, it works fine and there is no damage to it. The problem is it only works while its plugged in. There is no swelling of the battery but as soon as its unplugged it dies within seconds. Is it still eligible for trade in? I chatted with support but could not get a straight answer. I dont want to go through the process just to find out its not worth what they quoted me. Can anyone help answer this question? Thanks!

Based on other posts here, a dead battery is likely to produce a "no trade-in value" and give you instrucitons for Apple recycling.

Take it to the Apple Store and they will give you an immediate trade in value. This is much better then mailing it in where they can devalue the quoted price after they receive it. When mailing it in, they do give you the option to have it sent back to you, but taking it to the Apple Store avoids all of this hassle.

What does “older” mean exactly? For example, if yours is a first generation iPad Mini, released by Apple 11½ years ago, its trade-in value would be zero even if in perfect condition.

Hello~ It sounds as if the battery is not up to par. You would usually need to address this before trading.
