Prevent Cursor Jumping to Last Region of Track Upon Clicking Track

This drives me absolutely bonkers. When I'm in the zone and composing something for a small section of bars, I typically add layers across my tracks. But when I click a track that has a region in another part of the song, the cursor will automatically jump to the last region. Is there a way to prevent this "smart" jump?
