iMessage Not properly deleting.

Why Does The text messages still linger after being deleted? For example. If I thumbs up, heart, or dislike a message but then delete the message all together why does it still show at the top of text list? But when the text thread is open it isn’t there. Only way to avoid this it seems is to delete the entire thread. (Which I don’t want to do) Also when the text thread is opened it isn’t there. Another example is if you delete an individual message the thread remains at the top of the list with the time the deleted message was initially sent. Has anyone encountered this and more importantly has anyone figured out how to fix.
