You may need to check whether the mute button is accidentally on ... on the remote
(if so, maybe lower the sound before turning mute off.)

"Not all audio setups support the volume up or down buttons.
You might need to use the volume controls on the remote that came with your TV."
Press the Mute button one time to mute audio. Press it again to turn the audio back on.
