Fujitsu Scansnap s1500 Driver Software

As of mid 2022 I understood no driver was available to match the S1500 scanner with then current Mac OS. I have Sonoma 14 and would like to hook up my S1500. Has the driver situation improved or do I need to throw the scanner away with my old PC?

As of February 23, 2024, the following procedure installs ScanSnap Manager v7.2.70.1001 on a Mac. With it, ScanSnap S1500M runs perfectly well.

[03] Mount the dmg on the Desktop and open.

[04] It will have ScanSnap Installer. Double-click to launch it.

[05] Follow online steps, choosing ScanSnap Online Update download…

[06] Another volume “ScanSnap” mounts. Open it.

[07] Double-click on the ScanSnap “CD” icon to run it.

[08] When done, you will be greeted with a window “All updates For ScanSnap have been installed”

[09] Click on “Complete” to finish.

[10] In the Applications folder, you will see a folder “ScanSnap”. Open it.

[11] Here are the contents of the folder:

Consider the paid, but free trial of VueScan Professional that supports the ScanSnap S1500 series without any vendor drivers.

I purchased VueScan Professional in 2010 to drive an unsupported Canon scanner at that time, and that scanner still works with the current VueScan on macOS Sonoma. I have never paid for a VueScan software update in 13 years, nor do I benefit in any way from mentioning VueScan here.
