I have a number of videos stored in the “Apple TV” app on my Mac that are from other sources than iTunes Store purchases (e.g. videos purchased from other services or home videos). How can I watch these on my Vision Pro? On my iPad I can sync with my Mac, but the Vision Pro doesn’t seem to have a way to do that…Or does Vision Pro only allow you to watch movies purchased from Apple?

Yes, you can mount Files from your Mac, but WHAT !@#$ING FORMAT does Apple REQUIRE them to be in??? I've tried about six different formats, and AVP *will not !@#$ing play* any of them. This is INFURIATING!!! 🤬
Download Moon Player from the App Store. It connects to the Files app and can play any format. Seems like the only way for now.

I think I read that AVP has a Files app, much like Apple mobile. I would expect that it is possible to store (limited) videos in there. View and modify files and folders in Files on Apple Vision Pro - Apple Support
Do you know if there's a way to play directly from the MacBook's SMB share? It seems dumb to have to copy every movie ONTO the AVP before I watch it... but at least I *can* do that... I just have to frakk around for 30min before every watching session. 🤦🙄
If you go into the Apple TV app and look to the left of the screen where you can find the Search, home, Apple TV+, MLS and so on, you’ll find at the very bottom of the list the Library tab. Clicking on that will bring you any movies and TV shows that you have purchased.

this is easy to do on an iPad or iPhone — you just sync those from your computer’s iTunes library. But it seems that the Vision Pro doesn’t let you watch videos from competitors to the iTunes/ Apple TV store.

I have submitted this as a request at apple.com/feedback with the exact same question.
That being said, I was able to get files into the AVP:
created a folder in my iCloud and copied the files into there
on the AVP, let the iCloud folder sync up and then on each file, tap and HOLD and choose copy. There is a native folder in Files on the AVP called Files on my Apple Vision Pro (or something like that).
Once the files copied over, I deleted them from the iCloud folder.
Problem is that viewing the files in this way does not function like in the TV app (immersive and also does not remember where you left off).
Unfortunately, you can't see Network drives in the Files app on the AVP like you can on Macs.
Although Music has support for Home Sharing, I don't see it in the TV app. Of course there's nothing stopping you from using a third-party app. I use Infuse by Firecore for all my local media.
