Sync issues between MacBook & iPhone

After updating my iOS to 17.4.1 I noticed that my iPhone and my MacBook weren't syncing messages. I have searched for a fix, but nothing works so for now I am having to manually sync them from both devices. I deactivated the message syncing on both devices, restarted both, turned syncing back on, no change. Any other solutions?
