How to fix tick boxes on Magic Trackpad 2

I have a white Magic Trackpad 2 connected to my iMac, using the cable

rather than wifi. Very recently it has become inaccurate to use, jerky

movement, very hard to get it to pinpoint tick boxes on the screen, hard

to locate on the screen, can be anywhere for no identifiable reason.

Same issues whether using cable or otherwise ... is it time to replace

(it's approx 6+ yrs old but thought it would last much longer) or is

there something that can be done to improve it's operation please? All

software up-to-date.

Sadly, the oldest trick in the book, ie, turn it off and star again, didn't work! No change at all in the constant malfunction of magic trackpad! If possible, it's getting worse. Trying find where it's gone on the screen is becoming really onerous. And to top it all off, my keyboard is becoming slow, kind of like an old manual where the physical keys jammed if you typed too fast or not smoothly enough!

Fixed it - it was the computer which needed to be shut down and restarted, not the Magic Trackpad. Everything working just fine now - phew!!! Thanks for your help 6x6 ...
