Searches in the Finder lead to the Users folder instead of the desired location

I regularly encounter the following problem:

• Search for a folder in the Finder (e.g.: I look for "holidays")
• The search is successful (It displays "holidays in Paris")
• I click on the name of the desired folder
• Instead of arriving at the desired folder ("holidays in Paris"), the Finder directs me to /Users (which, incidentally, appears to be empty and shown none of the user folders whereas they exist).

What can I do?
