iPhone contact photo disappearing

So I have this annoying problem that has just started. Basically I have a contact photo for my girlfriend and after we text a few times, it just disappears when I go into the messages and just shows her initials. If I click her name, it shows her contact photo properly at the top.

When I quit the Messages app, everything goes back to normal for a little bit, but then it disappears again. Really annoying. It’s the only contact that this does this for and the only one that matters, quite quite honestly.
