Apple Devices sync button does nothing

I just updated my iPhone to iOS 17.5 and my Apple Devices app, but now when I click Sync on the application nothing happens at all. I even set it to sync automatically upon connecting and it still doesn't sync (though the app instead will lock up and the "stop sync" button will do nothing as it consumes 100% of my CPU)
