Ipod nano restore

I have an ipod nano which now displays a message restore with iTunes.

I have followed the instructions online by connecting the ipod to my PC running on windows 11 clicking on iTunes then clicking on devices. However all options are greyed out and no option to restore appears.

I have checked I have the latest version of iTunes, tried another cable, rebooted both PC and ipod.

Now run out of ideas. Any suggestions please. Thank you.
