Unable to get my camera to focus on my iPhone 12

Same issue with iphone 12 min. Can only focus in wide mode. 1x is blurry and can watch the screen trying capture focus. Just started happening as well. Very strange. Will schedule and apple appt and see what happens.

this started happening to me a few days ago. iphone 12, i did not drop it. can’t be a hardware issue if nothing happened and a ton of people seem to be experiencing the same thing at the same time. updated to ios 17 from ios 16 and it didn’t fix it. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, desperately need a solution as i’m not going to buy a new phone just for the 1x camera and also there are no genius bars or apple stores in ireland! so even if i wanted to do that i couldn’t! best i can do is go to a registered refurbisher and pay for them to take it apart which seems like an unnecessary expense for a software issue?

hwy, same thing here. i’m using 12 pro max my camera works well in snapchat but in default cam it is blurry, can’t able to focus specifically my telepoto. my x1 and .5 works well. do you think it is a software problem?

I have the same issue with my iphone 12 mini starting today. The weird thing is that in video mode my 1x lens is trying to focus and sometimes successfully, but in photo mode totally blurry. Along with scratchy sounds this looks like the software cannot correctly operate with camera hardware.

Had this issue since March, took it to the Genius Bar and they said there was nothing wrong with it but suggested I had the camera repaired just in case.

sometimes works fine, other times not so much. Really does sound like a software issue here.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have it diagnosed.
