Apple Home multiple Resident (Owner)

I have Apple Home set up on my iPhone under my Apple ID. I invited my children to join as Residents. One child is visible as Resident but the other is listed under my app as Resident but under his own app he is listed as Resident (Owner). I have no idea how this has happened and I cannot find a way to change this. I also cannot add any accessories to his Home account.
