Voice recognition for person with slight speech impediment

Hello: I am helping a friend with a disabilities set up his iPad. He wants to use voice control and voice transcription to write, but the voice recognition misunderstands what he says, even though any human being can understand him.

Are there third-party applications or other ways to improve the voice recognition on the iPad? He's using iOS 16. Thanks!
