Gain Map Demo App Documentation

Overview
Gain Map Demo App is a standalone app that demonstrates how gain maps can be used to implement dynamic renditions. In this context, the term “dynamic rendition” refers to a photo that can be interpolated between SDR and HDR renditions based on the display’s current HDR capacity.
For example, if the HDR rendition has +4 stops of overrange (e.g., a linear gamma pixel with value 16.0) but is being displayed on a system that currently provides only +2 stops of headroom, the gain map will be applied at 50% strength: halfway between SDR and HDR renditions.

The app is available as a macOS Universal app (x64 and arm64).
