Why do I get -This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons- message when I enter my password?

This error message means that someone has tried to sign into this account multiple times and failed each time.

When this happens Apple's system will disable the account to prevent unauthorized people from gaining access to your account information.

Follow the instructions on the iForgot web site to retrieve your password. Your signin information will be sent to the email address you chose for your Apple ID.

Alternatively you can answer the password recovery question you set when you created your account.
