Not sure of where and who originally discovered this tip, but I just recently got around to trying this.

This tip work REALLY well

So, I am going to post this, again, here and as a user tip.

If someone on the forums locates the original post and poster who disvovered this tidbit of a user tip, I will ammend this post/user tip with the original link and the Original Poster who discovered this procedure.

So, here it is.

Increasing iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch internal speaker volume levels

If you want to have louder internal speaker volume from your iPad, go into the Settings app.

Scroll the left hand column until you see the Settings panel for Music.

Tap the Music Settings Panel.

In the right hand column, scroll until you see the EQ Settings panel.

Tap the EQ arrow symbol at the far right of the panel.

Set the EQ mode for "Late Night" AND Voila!

Instant increase in volume levels when you use the volume slider!

An aside note for iPad 2 users.

I just discovered, as usual, that Apple made another random iPad 2 decision to leave out the "Late Night" EQ setting on iOS 9 for the iPad 2 models.

Why?...

Only Apple knows.

Again, maybe the internal speaker in the iPad 2 is an older piece of audio hardware that cannot take the appreciable increase in speaker volume without distorting the sound?

So, I went through all of EQ settings on my iPad 2.

The best setting for loudness is the "Lounge" EQ setting.

It is noticebly all around a bit louder than the "Loudness" EQ setting, but nowhere near as loud as the missing "Late Night" EQ setting, but whatever setting eeks out more volume out of the iPad 2’s internal speaker is better than nothing.

So, for getting more volume level from the iPad 2’s speaker, using the "Lounge" EQ setting is best for that model.

I suspect that this EQ exception also applies to the first gen iPad Mini, too, since both the first gen iPad Mini and iPad 2 are functionally equivalent.

Older iPad 3 and 4 models have the "Late Night" EQ setting.
