You used to be able to use iMessage to share a screen through the old iChat interface, but the seemed to get clunkier and clunkier or stopped working. I accidentally discovered that you can now do this through the Messages interface. In a conversation with another person there is a "Details" link in the top right. Click it and click the icon with the two rectangles. You will be given the option to share your screen or ask to share the other person's screen.
