Two factor authentication galore. For people locked out of their phones and accounts at the same time.

That feature is enabled by multiple people without realization that was done. Second factor of that type of security is Apple iPhone that sometimes becomes defective or locked for the owner. It is quite inconvenient loop for the elderly owners of Apple phones who started using security without understanding of consequences. There are way to recover accounts provided by Apple on apple id site and it does take 3 to 30 days to experience of people on this boards and for some accounts it never comes.

So here is simple work around for people who's phone right now is locked with apple id that has 2FA enabled.


You go to apple id website, may want to do that in your carriers store or at home as long as you can take sim card out of your phone and put it in other working phone. Then when sign in is accepted on temporary phone either by text or by call (if you unable to receive text you can request the call from the same page) you click edit and follow steps to disable 2FA.

Instructions to turn it off:

To turn off two-factor authentication, sign in to your Apple ID account page and click Edit in the Security section. Then click Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication. After you create new security questions and verify your date of birth, two-factor authentication will be turned off.
