"I got an email saying I bought something from the iTunes Store, but I didn't!"

Here is what you should do if you get an email claiming to be from iTunes saying that you bought something recently, but you did not buy anything or are unsure what/if you bought.


Make sure that the email really came from iTunes. Legitimate emails have characteristics like this:

If it is a real message, you can check to see what you were charged for in iTunes:

See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC - Apple Support


You can also check through this site, which also makes it easy to request a refund:

It could be that there is a recurring subscription that you signed up for, which you can manage via:

View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support
