There are some situation in which the Contacts on the Mac are not updated with your iCloud contacts.

In this case, if after having done a logout-login your contacts are still not updated you can try the following procedure:

  1. Close the Contacts app
  2. From the Finder's Menu "Go To" select "Go to Folder..", or press CMD-SHIFT-G
  3. In the Popup Window put the following String
    /Users/user_name/Library/Application Support
and hit Enter or click on Open (*)
  4. Inside the Folder "Application Support" search for a folder "AddressBook"User uploaded file
  5. Now make a backup copy of this folder by dragging it while pressing ALT on the destination you want (you should notice a green icon with the symbol "+" inside).
  6. Delete the folder
  7. Start again the Contacts app

Now your contacts should be again synchronized with iCloud.

(*) Please note that "Users" can be in your system translated with your local language and that "user_name" should be changed with the username of the user where the problem is happening.

For the current user you can use the shortcout

~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
