The degrading/aging iPhone 6/6+/6S/6S+/7/7+ battery issues have been confirmed by a bunch of older iPhone 6 users in two other postings, here in the iPhone support communities, well before Apple made this announcement/admission.

Change your older iPhone battery, your older iPhone will return to normal performance and operation under iOS 11.

This has been confirmed by, at least, a dozen of older iPhone users, in the other 2 or 3 iPhone 6 slowdown postings here, with similar performance slowdowns under iOS 11.

The degrading of older, aging, Li-ion batteries in older iPhones IS real, NOT “a made up story” from Apple.

Rechargeable batteries, like any other battery technology, degrade over time.

This CPU slowing down code, if battery performance started reaching reduced capacity, was introduced sometime during one of the iOS 10 updates.

A new battery cures performances woes and slowdowns with iOS 11.

AND, sometime in January 2018, Apple is dropping its replacement battery pricing from $79 U.S.D. to $29 U.S.D. AND this reduced battery replacement pricing will stay in effect until December 2018. Nearly the entire 2018 year.
