My Lombard hasn't been use for years and when I try to use my Lombard, the battery is dead, and I use OS 10.3.9 with no battery reset software, and I don't run classic and opt out "install OS 9 driver HD" when install OS X.

Putting it in the freezer for 12 hours and let it back to room temperature for another 12 hours doesn't help.

So I start my Lombard using OS 9 installer, to install OS 9 in order to be able to install Battery Reset.

After boot sequence done and it start on OS 9 disk, the battery still have cross on it, but strangely enough, after I clicked the battery icon the cross dissapear and my battery start to charge.

So I let it charge under OS 9 start up until it fully charge (6 hours) and after that I restart back to 10.3.9 and it still shows 3.12 hours remaining.

Hope other user will be as lucky as me using this method, otherwise you might have to run Battery reset on classic or install OS 9 and battery reset on OS X without OS 9 HD driver installed.

And in my opinion you can try this method on any mac laptop that able to start from os 9.

Good Luck.

ps: it is not guarantee that you can ressurect every dead battery.
