Question: Posted by second generation
Hello.
I have a second-generation ipod and I just recently came across a problem. I have one album that plays only a second or two of each song and then skips to the next song Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

If a reset fails you, consider the following method. It has been proven to resolve skipping and shorten play time of songs.
The following was done in Windows XP w/ iTunes.
1. Sync your ipod with iTunes
2. When the ipod appears in iTunes, select it and select ALL songs on that ipod (pressing CTRL+A or Edit->Select All)
3. While all of the songs are selected, "Get Info" for the songs by going to File->Get Info
4. Do NOT change any information! Leave everything as it is and hit "OK" on the bottom
5. iTunes will cycle through all the songs.
6. When finished, safely eject your ipod and test it out to see if the method worked.
