My iPod shows artist/albums multiple times! It looks fine in iTunes!
This issue is caused by additional characters (spaces) at the end of some of the tracks' id3 tags. iTunes (like most other computer programs) is smart enough to ignore it, but the iPod won't.
To fix this:
* Open iTunes
* Select all songs (ctrl+a on Windows, command+a on Mac) in question (either all from artist, or album. etc.) The Browser (ctrl+b on Windows, command+b on Mac) can make this easier.
* Get Info: ctrl+i on Windows or Command-i on Mac. Alternatively, right click/command click>Get Info.
* Re-type the field that has the problem (i.e. if the artist has the problem, only the artist fields).
* Hit OK
* Update the iPod. (If you're using manual transfer, delete the old copies from the iPod and drag the edited files onto the iPod.)
