kmosx: Unable to delete downloaded IE items

If the item is a downloaded file via Internet Explorer (IE). Try this suggestion:

  1. Launch IE and open Download Manager [command-4].

  2. You should see the item you unable to trash on your download history. You can either delete this particular item from the list or delete all the items on the list.

  3. Go back to the finder and try trashing the file.

If the method above doesn't work, or if you have another problem related to deleting files, try this:


  1. Open the file using Text Edit (you'll see a gibberish.)

  2. Select all of the characters, press delete, and enter some characters/words

  3. Save the file [command-s] and close the file [command-w]
  4. Go back to the finder and trash the file.
