Disabling the Internet Connect reminder:
Every 15 minutes or so, a popup appears that asks me if I want to remain connected to the Internet. How do I get rid of this?
If you are running Mac OS X, open the Network pane of System Preferences. If you are using a phone line, choose Internal Modem, and then choose PPP from the list of connections. If you are using Ethernet, choose Built-in Ethernet, and then choose PPPoE from the list of connections. Once you've chosen your connection, click the Options button; you can turn off the reminder here.
If you are running Mac OS 9 or earlier, open the Remote Access control panel and click the Options button at the bottom. Under the Connection tab, uncheck the box for prompting you to maintain your connection.
