kmos9: Should I have Virtual Memory on or off?

The answer to this is really dependent on your usage of the Mac. Try this test:
  1. Turn virtual memory (VM) off.
  2. Use the Mac for a while (few days, week, etc.).
  3. Turn VM on.
  4. Use the Mac for a while (few days, week, etc.).
Which did you think worked better? Leave VM in that state.

BTW, as you journey through life you will experience some programs that won't work if VM is on. You will also experience another group of programs that won't work if VM is off.
